This course is a REFRESHER.
This 4 hour course (2 hours online and 2 hours in class) is for students who seek a refresher in understanding how to support their clients to clean and maintain a healthy stoma, to replace and dispose of ileostomy and colostomy bags as required.
It applies to supporting a participant who is at risk of severe constipation or faecal incontinence and requires a support plan to manage the risk.
Students will also be expected to follow the correct procedure detailed in a support plan and document bowel function. This course aligns with NDIS High Intensity Support Skills Descriptor for Complex Bowel Care.
Students are expected to complete a written and practical assessment.

Completion: Student will receive a Certificate that is valid for one year.
