This 2 hours course (on-site) is for students who seek a refresher to support their clients to clean and maintain a healthy stoma, to replace and dispose of ileostomy and colostomy bags as required.
In the Urinary Catheter Management session, students will be refreshed on the type of urinary catheter required, specific techniques to support the use of a urinary catheter, the risks, response and reporting responsibilities. Students will practice catheter insertion techniques, positioning of bag to ensure drainage and tube positioning.
This course aligns with NDIS High Intensity Support Skills Descriptor.
Students are expected to complete a written and practical assessment on the day. The written assessment is an open e-book.

Completion: Student will receive a Certificate that is valid for one year.
