Complex Bowel Care Management – Ostomy and Stoma Care

This one-day course is for students who seek an understanding to support their clients to clean and maintain a healthy stoma, to replace and dispose of ileostomy and colostomy bags as required. It applies to supporting a participant who is at risk of severe constipation or faecal incontinence and requires a support plan to manage the risk. Students will also be expected to follow the correct procedure detailed in a support plan and document bowel function. This course aligns with NDIS High Intensity Support Skills Descriptor for Complex Bowel Care.

Students are expected to complete a written and practical assessment on the day. The written assessment is an open e-book.

Student MUST bring: Laptop

Completion: Student will receive a Certificate that is valid for one year.
