This qualification highlights the important role of community services workers in delivering person-centred services to individuals, groups, and communities. These workers operate autonomously within their scope of practice and contribute to positive transformations in people’s lives. They may supervise others, engage in case management, and coordinate programs. Practical work of at least 200 hours is required, following relevant legislation, standards, and codes of practice. No occupational licensing or certification prerequisites apply.
Entry Requirements
Academic level:
- Completion of Australian Year 12 or other equivalent Australian qualification/s for entry to a Diploma level
English proficiency
- Evidence of an IELTS test Score of 6.0 or equivalent for a Diploma qualification.
- Complete the LLN assessment
- Moderate level of computer literacy
Academic pathway
- Successful completion of Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing & Disability)
Minimum Age
- 18 years of age and above.

Students who successfully complete CHC52021 Diploma of Community Services may proceed to CHC62015 Advanced Diploma of Community Sector Management or enrol in another relevant course in the same pathway.
